Ableton has officially launched the public beta of Live 12.2, introducing a range of new features and improvements across all editions, as well as significant updates for Push users. This latest update brings meaningful enhancements to the creative workflow and sound design capabilities, with some standout features and devices that are sure to excite producers.
Bounce to New Track
One of the most requested features has arrived in Live 12.2: the ability to bounce clips or time selections on any MIDI or audio track, including all processing, to a new audio track with just a few clicks. Additionally, the Bounce Track in Place feature allows users to convert an entire track to audio.
Explore New and Updated Devices
Live 12.2 also brings a complete redesign of the Auto Filter, with new filter types, real-time visualization, and an improved modulation section. Auto Filter now comes to Move and Note for the first time.
New Max for Live devices also make their debut, including Expressive Chords, an MPE-enabled device that lets you play interesting progressions intuitively, one key or pad at a time. Meld has also received new updates, such as a new Chord oscillator and Scrambler LFO effect, while Roar adds a new routing mode and filter type, plus an external audio and MIDI sidechain.
Browse and Search More Easily
The new Quick Tags panel enhances the browsing experience by allowing users to view, edit, and assign tags directly in the Browser. The Filter View has been simplified, and its hidden features are now easier to discover. Customizable labels and user folders add flexibility, and users can now view multiple columns of metadata simultaneously.
What’s New for Push?
Live 12.2 introduces several major new creative features for Push. Expressive 16 Pitches enables Push users to play samples in Drum Rack melodically with added fine control from MPE-enabled pads. Additionally, users can now structure songs, perform Sets, and explore flexible ways of sequencing clips and scenes, with Follow Actions. Bounce to New Track, the Groove Pool, and the Tuning Systems are now fully accessible on Push as well.
New Devices and Features for Push
Along with the updates to Auto Filter, Meld, Roar, and Expressive Chords, Live 12.2 brings the External Audio Effect device to Push, allowing users to seamlessly integrate hardware audio effects into their Push Sets.

Live 12.2 is available to try now for owners of Live 12 licenses through the Ableton beta program. Once the beta period ends, the update will be free for all Live 12 users.
