Update: Realme CEO Madhav Sheth today announced on Twitter that the company has decided to postpone the launch of the Narzo series “until further notice.” While the Indian government had said last week that it would allow e-commerce firms to resume supply of non-essential items from April 20, it revised those guidelines yesterday. Supply of non-essential goods by e-commerce companies will now remain prohibited in the country until May 3.
Realme announced a new smartphone series called Narzo last month, aiming to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi and POCO sub-brands in India. The first Narzo series smartphones were slated to launch in the country on March 26, but the company decided to postpone the launch due to the countrywide lockdown announced on March 24.
