Asus ZenFone 8 can be launched tomorrow, and the base variant price of the lineup has surfaced online ahead of the official launch. The leak shares the European price of the phone and it is expected to begin at 700 EUR (around 62,300 Rs.). Asus ZenFone 8 will succeed the ZenFone 7 which was launched last year in August but did not launch in the Indian market. However, the ZenFone 8 may also arrive in India.

Asus ZenFone 8 is expected to be offered in three storage configurations – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 16GB + 256GB, according to known tipster Sudhanshu in collaboration with 91Mobiles. The base model could cost 700 EUR, the high-end model could cost EUR 800 (around Rs 71,300) and the storage model of 8GB + 256GB could cost 750 EUR (around Rs 66,900). The launch of the phone is slated for May 12, and it is unclear whether on the same date it will hit the Indian market.
In comparison, Asus ZenFone 7 launched at TWD 21,990 (around Rs 55,700) for the storage variant of 6GB + 128GB in Taiwan, while the storage option of 8GB + 128GB was priced at TWD 23,990 (around 60 100 Rs). ZenFone 7 didn’t launch in India, and Asus told that the brand’s issue had nothing to do with it. Asus ZenFone 6 was released in India under the name Asus 6Z due to branding issues related to the nickname “ZenFone”.
Asus ZenFone 8 specifications (expected)
Asus ZenFone 8 may run on Android 11 based ZenUI 8. It may feature 5.9 inch full-HD + Samsung E4 AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection and screen refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone will be charged by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, paired with 16GB RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage of 256GB.
Asus ZenFone 8 can include a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 main sensor, a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor, and a macro lens for photos and videos. Up front, the phone is tilted to feature a selfie camera of 12-megapixel. The ZenFone 8 can have a battery of 4000mAh with support for 30W fast charging.
Connectivity options can include support for 5G, Bluetooth v5.2, FM radio, and Wi-Fi 6. The phone will feature a USB Type-C port and an audio jack of 3.5mm. There may also be Hi-Fi audio playback and linear vibration motor support. Asus ZenFone 8 will likely to have a built-in fingerprint scanner also.
The ZenFone 8 series is expected to include three phones: Asus ZenFone 8 Pro, Asus ZenFone 8 Mini, and the vanilla Asus ZenFone 8. The Indian launch of Asus ZenFone 8 Pro was announced earlier this month by a purported certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). ZenFone 8 Pro and ZenFone 8 Mini pricing has yet to be announced.
